Compare
Odins vs Kantar
Kantar is the largest name in marketing effectiveness, with LIFT ROI and an always-on platform behind it. The comparison is not credibility. It is what an effectiveness institution delivers versus what a focused product delivers, at what pace, and at what price.

Credit first: nobody has Kantar's depth.
Decades of effectiveness research, brand science most vendors cannot imitate, and a real Bayesian engine in the building. Kantar earned the incumbency.
- The deepest bench in marketing effectiveness, across every category and region
- LIFT ROI folds brand equity and creative quality into ROI analysis, which few others can
- Hamilton AI, acquired with Blackwood Seven, is a genuine Bayesian hierarchical engine
- A Gartner Visionary in 2025, with published accuracy cases
An institution, or a product.
Kantar brings an effectiveness institution: research heritage, brand science, global teams. Odins brings a product: one Bayesian model per market, retrained monthly, verified in the open, with a recommendation attached. The real question is which one your organization will actually absorb and act on.
- A focused product with one job: the marketing investment decision
- Priors set for thin Nordic markets, in working sessions with your team
- A glass box: open saturation curves, coefficients and a forecast hit rate you can check any day
- Mid-market price and a monthly cadence, without an engagement structure around it

The choice
Who should choose which.
Institution or product. Both are legitimate buys; they suit different organizations.
Choose Kantar if
- You are a global enterprise wanting effectiveness, brand and creative science in one relationship
- You already run Kantar brand tracking and want measurement connected to it
- Procurement and the board favour the largest incumbent
Choose Odins if
- You are a Nordic or European mid-market advertiser and want a working model in weeks
- You want to open the model: priors, curves and forecast accuracy on demand
- The budget question needs answering monthly, at a price that fits it
The honest overlap
Plenty of boards trust Kantar because they have trusted Kantar for 30 years, and that is worth something. Ask what the delivery cadence, the model transparency and the invoice look like at your size, then compare like for like.
Frequently asked questions.
Is Kantar's MMM Bayesian like Odins?
Partly. The Hamilton AI engine that came with Blackwood Seven is Bayesian and hierarchical. The wider LIFT ROI toolkit is described as AI-assisted without a single stated method. Odins is Bayesian end to end, and we will happily walk your analysts through exactly what that means in our model.
Kantar cites up to 97 percent accuracy. Odins cites 85 to 90 plus. Are they better?
Compare definitions before percentages. Our number is forward accuracy on forecasts stored before actuals arrive, computed monthly on every customer model. A published case figure is a snapshot of one engagement. Ask any vendor, us included, how the number is computed and how often it refreshes.
Kantar also does brand tracking and creative testing. Does Odins?
No. We model marketing as an investment and stop there. If you need brand equity research or creative testing, Kantar and others do it well, and those studies can inform the priors in our model.
Both say always-on. What does it mean in each case?
For us: the model retrains monthly on fresh data, a person reviews the recommendation, and the verification tab updates against actuals. Always-on is a delivery promise, so ask what cadence and what human attention it includes in any enterprise platform, and hold us to the same question.
Is a 30-year incumbent safer than a Nordic startup?
For some things, yes, and pretending otherwise would be silly. Our answer is transparency at product level: the model is a glass box, forecasts are stored before reality arrives, and you own your data and model. Safety you can inspect monthly beats safety you assume.
