Compare
Odins vs Dema
Dema is the other Nordic name that belongs on this shortlist: Stockholm-built commerce intelligence with MMM and incrementality testing on top. The comparison is DNA. Dema starts from ecommerce profit data. Odins starts from the marketing investment decision.

Credit first: Dema thinks clearly about profit.
Stockholm-built, well backed, and serious about the economics of ecommerce. Several of their design choices are ones we would defend in any methodology discussion.
- Modeling on contribution margin rather than revenue is the right call for ecommerce economics
- Geo-based incrementality tests are wired into the model, not run beside it
- Continuous recalibration as data arrives, with marginal ROAS front and centre
- A strong Nordic customer list in fashion and ecommerce
Commerce intelligence or investment platform.
Dema answers how an ecommerce business is performing, down to profit per order, and adds media measurement to that picture. Odins answers what your marketing investment should be, across every channel you buy, offline included.
- TV, radio, OOH and print sit in the same model as digital, which matters the day you add brand media
- Business drivers like pricing and promotions are modeled, not held constant
- Budget size is a first-class output: the model answers how much in total, then how to split it
- The same discipline works for finance, automotive and services as for ecommerce
Channel contribution, 80% ranges
from the posteriorA tight range is a decision. A wide range is a test plan, with cost boundaries.
The choice
Who should choose which.
Two Nordic platforms, two different starting points. Choose for where your marketing is heading.
Choose Dema if
- You are a pure-play ecommerce brand and want profit analytics and media measurement in one platform
- Geo-testing is already part of your culture and you want tests feeding the model continuously
- Your question is the marginal euro across digital channels, answered daily
Choose Odins if
- Your mix includes offline or brand media, or soon will
- Budget size is on the table, beyond allocation between digital channels
- You want priors set with your team and a forecast hit rate you can inspect monthly
The honest overlap
A Nordic ecommerce brand that buys only digital could be well served by either platform. The fork in the road is the first TV campaign, or the first board meeting that asks what the total should be. Choose for where you are heading, not just where you are.
Frequently asked questions.
Both are Nordic. What is actually different?
The starting point. Dema is commerce intelligence: profit-per-order economics for ecommerce, with MMM and geo tests layered on. Odins is investment measurement: one Bayesian model per market covering offline, online and business drivers, built to answer budget size and allocation with verified accuracy.
Dema models contribution margin. Does Odins?
We model the sales fields you configure, and margin can be one of them, with volume alongside value. The bigger difference is scope: our model also carries offline media and business drivers, so margin movements are explained by more than digital spend.
Is geo-testing not better than priors?
They are not rivals. A clean geo test is gold-standard evidence, and in a Bayesian model it enters as a prior that anchors that channel's ROI. The Nordic catch is that small markets can rarely power many geo splits, so tests are precious. Priors from spend history, digital signals and interviews carry the rest.
We run Shopify and buy only Meta and Google. Who fits?
Honestly: at that stage a commerce platform like Dema covers a lot of your question. Odins earns its keep when budget size becomes a live decision, when channels multiply, or when offline enters the mix. Some customers come to us exactly at that transition.
Can Odins use our ecommerce profit data?
Yes. Sales data arrives through managed integrations, and margin can be a modeled value field. We set that up with you during onboarding, offline sales included if you have them.
