Alternatives

The best MarketingIQ alternatives.

Looking past MarketingIQ for marketing mix modeling? If you want the model retrained every month, with offline media and business drivers inside it, the strongest alternative is Odins: one managed Bayesian model per market, with data flowing in daily and scenarios and forecasts any time. Odins is ours, so we say it up front. Four more options follow, sorted by who they fit.

The alternatives

Five alternatives, sorted by fit.

MarketingIQ is a London consultancy building bespoke, R-coded marketing mix models for agencies and brands, at published flat fees. These five take a different route. The best-for lines say which one suits you.

  1. Odins

    Managed Bayesian platform That's us

Best MarketingIQ alternative for advertisers who want the model run for them, retrained monthly on daily data, with scenarios and forecasts any time.

Odins is a managed marketing investment platform. MarketingIQ builds a bespoke model at a flat fee; Odins keeps one running. That means data integration, one Bayesian model per market with TV, radio, OOH and print next to digital, pricing and promotions, and a recommendation a person reviews. Data flows in daily, scenarios and forecasts are yours to run any time, and the model is retrained monthly, with forecasts stored before actuals arrive. Disclosure: this is our platform.

Bayesian MMM · Fully managed · Daily data, monthly retrain Odins vs MarketingIQ
  2. Meta Robyn

    Open-source framework

Best free way to get a first directional MMM inside a week.

The package that made MMM feel free, and the most automated of the three. It is frequentist rather than Bayesian, returns a set of candidate models to choose between, and Meta has stopped active development. Fine for a first look. Think twice before betting the measurement stack on it.

    Frequentist framework · Self-hosted · Community-maintained Odins vs Robyn
  3. PyMC-Marketing

    Open-source framework

Best open-source option for maximum flexibility, if you have the Bayesian skills.

The most customizable of the open frameworks and the closest to our own stack: custom priors, full hierarchies, user-defined everything. The same review estimates up to two weeks for a novice's first full run, and budget optimization requires custom code. Excellent for capable teams, demanding for everyone else.

Bayesian framework · Self-hosted · Steepest learning curve Odins vs PyMC-Marketing
  4. Funnel Measure

    Data platform

Best for teams that want measurement on top of the data hub they already run.

Stockholm's marketing data hub, with MMM, attribution and incrementality layered on its own data foundation and updated daily. The three methods cross-check each other instead of sitting in one model. Deepest across digital sources.

Triangulated MMM · Product-led · Daily updates Odins vs Funnel
  5. Dema

    Commerce intelligence

Best for pure-play ecommerce brands that want profit analytics and media measurement together.

Stockholm-built commerce intelligence. The MMM runs on contribution margin and is recalibrated by geo-based incrementality tests. Built around ecommerce paid media, with fashion brands like Acne Studios and Axel Arigato on the customer list.

MMM plus geo tests · Ecommerce · Continuous Odins vs Dema

When to look elsewhere

Four reasons to look for a MarketingIQ alternative.

MarketingIQ brings senior experience, open R code and published prices, and for an agency that wants MMM under its own brand it belongs on the shortlist. These are the situations where another option fits better.

  • You want the model retrained every month, with data flowing in daily
  • You want a platform your team logs into, with scenarios and forecasts any time
  • You want to write and run the model yourself, at no license cost
  • You run a pure-play ecommerce business and want profit analytics in the same tool
Why Odins

One model per market, kept current for you.

Odins carries the whole chain, from data integration to a reviewed monthly recommendation. Data flows in daily and you run scenarios and forecasts any time, so the model keeps pace with your media plan.

  • Data integration and structuring included, with data flowing in daily
  • Priors set in 2 to 3 working sessions, from your spend history, digital saturation signals and structured interviews
  • TV, radio, OOH and print in the same model as digital, next to pricing and promotions
  • Data flows in daily, the model is retrained monthly and every recommendation reviewed; scenarios and forecasts run any time, in the platform or from Claude via the Odins MCP
  • Forecasts stored before actuals arrive and checked at every retrain

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is the best alternative to MarketingIQ?

It depends on your budget and on who will write or run the model. For a model run for you, retrained monthly on data that flows in daily, with scenarios and forecasts any time, Odins is the alternative we would point to, and yes, it is ours. For a free first look, Meta Robyn. To build your own Bayesian model, PyMC-Marketing. For measurement on top of a data hub you already run, Funnel Measure. For ecommerce profit analytics, Dema.

How is Odins different from MarketingIQ?

MarketingIQ builds bespoke models in R at published flat fees, often for agencies to deliver under their own brand. Odins is a managed platform: one Bayesian model per market, data flowing in daily, scenarios and forecasts any time, and a monthly retrain with every recommendation reviewed. The full comparison, with sources, is on Odins vs MarketingIQ.

Which other UK MMM providers should we compare?

We have written side-by-side comparisons of Odins with three more UK providers of marketing mix modeling and econometrics: Linea Analytics, MetaMetrics and twenty10, each with sources. Odins works in the UK too.

Is there a free alternative to MarketingIQ?

Yes, if you have the skills. Meta Robyn and PyMC-Marketing are free open-source packages, paid for in staff and time: someone has to collect the data, build the model and keep it current. Robyn is frequentist and Meta has stopped active development; PyMC-Marketing is Bayesian and the most flexible.

What does a MarketingIQ alternative cost?

MarketingIQ publishes flat fees, from £5k to £10k for a light model and £10k to £25k for full-funnel MMM. Meta Robyn and PyMC-Marketing are free to use, paid for in staff and time. Funnel Measure and Dema do not publish pricing, and neither do we. Odins is a subscription priced for the budget it optimizes, for companies with a marketing budget from EUR 1M to several hundred million a year, with the team included and no data science hires needed.
