Alternatives

The best Pace alternatives.

Pace is an independent MMM consultancy in Sweden, working on marketing mix modeling and forecasting since 2011. If you want MMM as a managed platform, retrained monthly on data that flows in daily, with offline media in the model and scenarios and forecasts you run any time, the strongest alternative is Odins. Odins is ours, so we say it up front. Four more options follow, sorted by who they fit.

The alternatives

Five alternatives, sorted by fit.

Pace offers independent MMM and forecasting with an emphasis on speed, simplicity and keeping your data on your side. These five take a different route. The best-for lines say which one suits you.

  1. Odins

    Managed Bayesian platform That's us

Best Pace alternative for advertisers who want MMM run as a monthly system, with a team behind it.

Odins is a managed marketing investment platform. Pace works as an independent advisor. Odins runs the whole chain: data integration and structuring, one Bayesian model per market with TV, radio, OOH and print next to digital, pricing and promotions, and priors set with your team. Data flows in daily and scenarios and forecasts are yours to run any time; the model is retrained monthly and a person reviews every recommendation. Disclosure: this is our platform.

Bayesian MMM · Fully managed · Daily data, monthly retrain Odins vs Pace
  2. Google Meridian

    Open-source framework

Best open-source option for teams with data scientists and geo-level data.

Google's Bayesian framework, the most packaged of the open three, with the strongest budget optimizer and native geo-level modeling. You build and maintain everything yourself, and a 2026 academic review flags the default uniform priors as a misuse risk. Free license, paid for in staff and time.

Bayesian framework · Self-hosted · Your team runs it Odins vs Meridian
  3. PyMC-Marketing

    Open-source framework

Best open-source option for maximum flexibility, if you have the Bayesian skills.

The most customizable of the open frameworks and the closest to our own stack: custom priors, full hierarchies, user-defined everything. The same review estimates up to two weeks for a novice's first full run, and budget optimization requires custom code. Excellent for capable teams, demanding for everyone else.

Bayesian framework · Self-hosted · Steepest learning curve Odins vs PyMC-Marketing
  4. Meta Robyn

    Open-source framework

Best free way to get a first directional MMM inside a week.

The package that made MMM feel free, and the most automated of the three. It is frequentist rather than Bayesian, returns a set of candidate models to choose between, and Meta has stopped active development. Fine for a first look. Think twice before betting the measurement stack on it.

    Frequentist framework · Self-hosted · Community-maintained Odins vs Robyn
  5. Kantar LIFT ROI

    Enterprise incumbent

Best for global enterprises that want effectiveness, brand and creative science together.

The largest measurement company's MMM, with brand equity and creative quality folded into the analysis and the Bayesian Hamilton AI engine in the toolkit. A 2025 Gartner Visionary. An institution more than a product, at institution scale.

Mixed methods, Bayesian engine included · Platform plus consulting · Enterprise Odins vs Kantar

When to look elsewhere

Four reasons to look for a Pace alternative.

Pace brings independent, experienced MMM advice, and for a brand that wants clear answers to specific questions it belongs on the shortlist. These are the situations where another route fits better.

  • You want the model retrained every month as new data arrives
  • You want to run scenarios and forecasts yourself, any time
  • Data integration and structuring should be part of the service
  • You want to own and run the model in-house, with your own data scientists
Why Odins

MMM that keeps running between the questions.

Odins is MMM, run for you as a system. The model sets the budget level and the split between channels, and it is there whenever the next question comes up.

  • One Bayesian model per market, with TV, radio, OOH and print next to digital, pricing and promotions
  • Priors set in 2 to 3 working sessions, from your spend history, digital saturation signals and structured interviews
  • Results from lift and geo tests you have run are taken into the model, and a structured test is proposed when a channel is uncertain
  • Data flows in daily and scenarios and forecasts run any time, in the platform or from Claude via the Odins MCP; the retrain and reviewed recommendation are monthly
  • Forecasts stored before actuals arrive, so the model's record is there to inspect

Channel contribution, 80% ranges

A tight range is a decision. A wide range is a test plan, with cost boundaries.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is the best alternative to Pace?

It depends on who you want running the model. For MMM as a managed platform, retrained monthly on daily data, with offline media in the model and scenarios and forecasts any time, Odins is the alternative we would point to, and yes, it is ours. To own the model in-house, Google Meridian, or PyMC-Marketing for a team with Bayesian skills. For a free first look, Meta Robyn. For effectiveness, brand and creative together at global scale, Kantar LIFT ROI.

How is Odins different from Pace?

Pace is an independent MMM consultancy that answers specific questions with your data kept on your side. Odins is a managed platform: data integration, one Bayesian model per market, a monthly retrain on data that arrives daily, scenarios you run yourself, and a person behind every recommendation. The full comparison, with sources, is on Odins vs Pace.

Is there a Pace alternative we can run in-house?

Yes. Google Meridian, PyMC-Marketing and Meta Robyn are open-source frameworks your own team can run. They are free to license and paid for in staff and time. If you would rather not build that team, Odins runs the model for you.

Does Odins model TV and promotions?

Yes. TV, radio, OOH and print sit in the same model as digital, next to pricing and promotions, so a promotion and the media around it are measured together.

What does a Pace alternative cost?

Pace does not publish prices and describes its work as affordable. The open-source frameworks are free to license and paid for in staff time. Odins is a subscription priced for the budget it optimizes, for companies with a marketing budget from EUR 1M to several hundred million a year, with the team included and no data science hires needed.
