Odins vs Ruler Analytics
Ruler Analytics, from Liverpool, ties leads, forms and phone calls back to the revenue they closed, and has added marketing mix modeling on top. Odins is a marketing mix model first. Many teams need both views. Here is what Ruler does well, and where an MMM-first platform answers a different question.

Credit first: Ruler follows the lead all the way to revenue.
For lead generation and service businesses, the hard part is often that a phone call or a form closes the deal weeks later in a CRM. Ruler connects that chain, and it publishes its prices.
- Call, form and live chat tracking matched to closed revenue in your CRM
- Attribution that credits impressions as well as clicks, combined with MMM output into one ROAS view
- An MMM layer with diminishing returns curves and a budget scenario planner
- Published, traffic-based pricing, with MMM on the Advanced plan
The budget question needs a model of its own.
Ruler's strength is the lead-to-revenue trail, and its MMM sits on that data. Odins starts from the other end: one Bayesian model per market for the total budget and its split, with offline media and business drivers inside it. Odins complements attribution; the two answer different questions.
- Budget size and allocation answered from one model, with confidence ranges instead of a single number
- Priors set with your team in 2 to 3 working sessions, from spend history, digital saturation signals and structured interviews
- TV, radio, OOH and print next to digital, with pricing and promotions in the same model
- Fully managed: we collect and structure the data, run the model, and a person reviews every recommendation, with forecasts stored before actuals arrive
Channel contribution, 80% ranges
from the posteriorA tight range is a decision. A wide range is a test plan, with cost boundaries.
The choice
Who should choose which.
These are different first questions. Ruler asks where each lead came from. Odins asks how much to spend and where. Plenty of teams want both.
Choose Ruler Analytics if
- You sell through leads, calls and forms, and need each one matched to revenue in your CRM
- Your spend is mostly digital and you want attribution and an MMM layer in one tool
- You want published, traffic-based pricing, with attribution as the starting point
Choose Odins if
- The first question is the size of the total budget and its split across channels
- TV, radio, OOH or print carry real budget, or pricing and promotions move your sales
- You want the model built and run for you, with a person reviewing every recommendation
The honest overlap
Ruler's call and lead tracking and an Odins model do not compete for the same job. Attribution shows which leads closed and where they came from. The model shows where the next unit of budget still pays. If you already run Ruler, the closed revenue you track there can be the sales series the Odins model uses.
Frequently asked questions.
Does Ruler Analytics do marketing mix modelling?
Yes. Ruler offers MMM on its Advanced plan, with diminishing returns curves per channel and a budget scenario planner. Its documentation describes a weekly model with adstock that typically needs up to two years of spend and revenue data. It does not state the inference method publicly.
How much does Ruler Analytics cost?
Ruler publishes indicative pricing scaled by website traffic: from GBP 299 a month on the Small plan to GBP 1,499 a month on the Advanced plan, which is the plan that includes MMM, with 10% off for annual billing. We do not publish a price list. Odins is a subscription priced for the budget it optimizes, for companies with a marketing budget from EUR 1M to several hundred million a year, with the team included and no data science hires needed.
Should we replace Ruler with Odins?
Usually not. Ruler tracks leads, calls and forms back to revenue; Odins sizes and splits the budget. Odins complements attribution rather than replacing it, and the closed revenue you track in Ruler can be the sales series our model uses.
Can Odins model call-driven and lead-generation businesses?
Yes. The model works on the sales or lead series you care about, whether that is closed revenue, qualified leads or applications, next to spend per channel and business drivers. We collect and structure that data as part of onboarding.
Can Odins use the incrementality tests we have already run?
Yes. Results from lift tests, geo tests and other incrementality tests are taken into the model. Where the data still cannot resolve a channel, we say so and propose a structured test, with the expected cost stated up front.
What are the best alternatives to Ruler Analytics?
It depends on what you need from the model. We compared five options, with sources and who each one fits, on a separate page: the best Ruler Analytics alternatives. Odins is on the list, and we say so up front.
