Alternatives
The best SIMBA alternatives.
SIMBA is the Bayesian MMM platform from PyMC Labs, made for modelers and agencies. If you want the whole chain run for you, from data collection to a reviewed monthly recommendation on budget size and allocation, with data flowing in daily and scenarios and forecasts any time, the strongest alternative is Odins. Odins is ours, so we say it up front. Four more options follow, sorted by who they fit.

The alternatives
Five alternatives, sorted by fit.
SIMBA is Bayesian MMM software from PyMC Labs: no-code priors, scenario planning and budget optimization on a PyMC engine, with a managed tier. These five take a different route. The best-for lines say which one suits you.

Odins
Managed Bayesian platform That's usBest SIMBA alternative for teams that want data, model and a reviewed recommendation handled as one service.
Odins is a managed marketing investment platform. SIMBA gives modelers a strong Bayesian workbench; Odins runs the whole chain. That means data collection and structuring, one Bayesian model per market with TV, radio, OOH and print next to digital, pricing and promotions, and priors set with your team in working sessions. Data flows in daily, scenarios and forecasts are yours to run any time, and the model is retrained monthly with a recommendation a person reviews. Disclosure: this is our platform.

Google Meridian
Open-source frameworkBest open-source option for teams with data scientists and geo-level data.
Google's Bayesian framework, the most packaged of the open three, with the strongest budget optimizer and native geo-level modeling. You build and maintain everything yourself, and a 2026 academic review flags the default uniform priors as a misuse risk. Free license, paid for in staff and time.

PyMC-Marketing
Open-source frameworkBest open-source option for maximum flexibility, if you have the Bayesian skills.
The most customizable of the open frameworks and the closest to our own stack: custom priors, full hierarchies, user-defined everything. The same review estimates up to two weeks for a novice's first full run, and budget optimization requires custom code. Excellent for capable teams, demanding for everyone else.

Recast
Advanced specialistBest for large, mostly US advertisers with analytics teams and daily data.
A Bayesian MMM with time-varying parameters, weekly automated refreshes and out-of-sample backtesting. Built for Fortune 500 and large DTC budgets, with enterprise pricing that is not published.

Mutinex
Enterprise platformBest for multi-brand enterprises that need one MMM hierarchy across markets.
GrowthOS packages enterprise MMM as cleanly as anyone, with real scale: more than 100 global brands and over 13 billion dollars in commercial decisions, by Mutinex's count. Run from Sydney, Melbourne and New York.

Four reasons to look for a SIMBA alternative.
SIMBA is careful Bayesian modeling made accessible, from people who know the method as well as anyone. Some buyers still need something else.
- Nobody on your team wants to own model fitting, comparison and refits month after month
- Your data sits in many platforms and agency reports, and someone has to collect and structure it first
- The budget owner wants a reviewed recommendation every month more than a modeling studio
- You want forecasts stored before actuals arrive, so the model's record can be checked
From raw data to a reviewed decision, in one subscription.
Odins covers the work before and after the model: collecting the data and keeping it flowing daily, setting priors with your team, and turning each monthly retrain into a recommendation a person has reviewed. Scenarios and forecasts are yours to run any time.
- Data collection and structuring included, with data flowing in daily from your sources
- Priors set in 2 to 3 working sessions, from your spend history, digital saturation signals and structured interviews
- TV, radio, OOH and print in the same model as digital, next to pricing and promotions
- Scenarios and forecasts you run yourself any time, in the platform or from Claude via the Odins MCP
- Forecasts stored before actuals arrive and checked at each monthly retrain

Frequently asked questions.
What is the best alternative to SIMBA?
It depends on who will run the model. If you want data collection, the model and a reviewed monthly recommendation handled for you, on data that flows in daily and with scenarios and forecasts any time, Odins is the alternative we would point to, and yes, it is ours. For a free framework with geo-level modeling, Google Meridian. To write the Bayesian code yourself, PyMC-Marketing. For large advertisers with analytics teams, Recast. For one hierarchy across many brands and markets, Mutinex.
How is Odins different from SIMBA?
Both are Bayesian, both take lift test results into the model and both connect to AI assistants through an MCP server. SIMBA is a platform for modelers, with a managed tier on top. Odins runs the whole chain as a service: data collection, priors set with your team, a monthly retrain and a recommendation a person reviews. The full comparison, with sources: Odins vs SIMBA.
Is there a free alternative to SIMBA?
Yes. PyMC-Marketing and Google Meridian are open source and free to license. You pay in staff time instead: someone has to collect the data, write and validate the model, and keep it current.
Can Odins use lift and geo test results?
Yes. Results from lift tests, geo tests and other incrementality tests are taken into the model. Where the data still cannot resolve a channel, the reviewed recommendation proposes a structured test, such as a pulse test, with the expected cost stated up front.
What does a SIMBA alternative cost?
SIMBA lists its plans without prices, and most platforms on this list do not publish pricing either, ours included. Odins is a subscription priced for the budget it optimizes, for companies with a marketing budget from EUR 1M to several hundred million a year, with the team included and no data science hires needed.
